Just so you know. I am not disregarding that poll... jsut did this in the meantime.

10 Unpopular Fandom Opinions (I think)

1) Logan/Veronica is not OTP to me. I'm not like opposed to the pairing but I don't think it's that amazing and thanks to fandom I would not be sad if it dissapeared from the face of the earth.

2) I don't generally like friendship pairings. This doesn't mean that I don't like pairing anyone who are friends together but the whole "oh look we are such great friends it must be love" thing bores me to death. So yes this includes: Harry/Ron, Harry/Hermione, Sirius/Remus, Mal/Zoe, Mal/Kaylee, Veronica/Wallace, Izzie/George etc.

3) I don't care about who Harry OR Draco is paired with. Neither character is really that fascinating or attractive to me. Also... I don't care about Regulus Black.

4)Izzie/Denny made me want to puke all over myself. Seriously.

5) Slash and Het really aren't fundementally different. Get over yourselves on both sides.

6) I liked Duncan. I didn't like a lot of the writer's choices about what to do with Duncan in season 2, but I think he was an interesting character with a lot of potential.

7) I enjoy Buffy/Angel and Buffy/Spike differently but with no particular preference for one over the other.

8) Ron is the king of straight people. Straight as an arrow and what not.

9) Protagonists and villians usually are less intersting to me than side characters.

10) I don't like Mal/River or Jayne/River.

When I read the challenge I knew it had to be something BtVS after the finale... because it's the ultimate fresh start.

He laughs, cold against you in the alleyway. There are too many alleys in Sunnydale and he's freezing you from the inside and you should put a stake through his heart or at least push him off of you instead of letting him pin you up against the wall and violate you like he never did. Angelus likes to talk too, the silent brooding and cryptic words are nowhere to be found; instead, he’s crude and cruel as he smirks, "This, the evil of me... in you, it is what you've always yearned for Buffy, you stupid, naive, little bitch."


Anyone else want a drabble?

Yesterday I watched Entropy... The Spike/Anya shipper in me was ridiculously giddy and felt like huge chunks of the episode were fanfic I would have written if it was not canon. 2 1/2 seasons of waiting finally paid off somewhat. My ship makes sooooo much sense.

So you used to raise hell with your demon prowess? And you were really good at it. Now you're disempowered and taken for granted? Drown your sorrows... in sex.

I am enjoy Buffy/Spike in season 6 not because it's TEH HOT or TEH DARK but because finally it's not a love relationship that Buffy is in. No matter how much they humanized Buffy before this she was always the girl who was in love with the guy and they were together and it was epic and in some sense wholesome even when taboo. It was traditional and idealized and romantic(even with Riley's boringness). I have never been that girl. I cannot relate to her. I can however relate to the scared and unsure, angry lonely and isolated, loveless and yet desperate to feel excitement, lost and confused and ashamed and yet brazen young woman that Buffy is when she falls into sex with Spike. I mean the guys I had these unhealthy relationships with weren't in love with me like Spike is with Buffy, but that sems somewhat immaterial for some reason. Still. I find it appealing because it's grey area and it's not about love and it's not Buffy being victimized by love, but her acting out of very different things and those things are much more what most relationships are about. Now that's simplifying things and ignoring the archtypical dynamics and cliches that it does fall into... but hey I feel like being positive and I'm glad that it's not love and it's not right or wrong. There are no prophecies and no destiny about it. Actually, before I ever really watched Buffy at all, back in the first part of college I had a Buffy/Spike icon in my journal because that it was applicable to my RL in some way. So I guess it's not suprising that there is some resonance.
